Joe Astrauckas received a B.B.A. from The University of Georgia with a double major in Real Estate and Finance and an M.B.A. from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. Joe has 18 years of experience in which he has worked with private equity firms and hedge funds to acquire distressed real estate assets and liquidate them profitably.

While in business school, Joe was involved in over 80 REIT formations at REIT Funding LLC, a boutique investment bank that places preferred equity for privately held REITS.

After REIT Funding, Joe worked at Turnstone Group as Vice President and Director of Asset Management, where he oversaw the investment management team and was instrumental in starting the monetization of Turnstone’s $700mm investment portfolio. Most recently, Joe was Vice President at a subsidiary of Colony Capital, a real estate private equity firm with over $54 billion invested worldwide.

At Ornstein-Schuler, Joe oversees the management and disposition of the company’s investment portfolio and several aspects of new property acquisition, including site selection, financial analysis, due diligence, and asset business planning strategy.

Joe has a wife and three children, and is a gourmet cook with a love of golf, music, and saltwater fishing.
